Lige Curry joined Parliament Funkadelic in 1978, first contributing background vocals and bass shortly thereafter, just in time for the Gloryhallastoopid tour. Lige’s opportunity to ride the mothership came after George Clinton saw him and his cousin Micheal Hampton (aka Kid Funkadelic) play the Funkadelic classic, “Maggot Brain,” at an afterparty in Cleveland, Ohio. Mr. Clinton was impressed and hired Michael to play guitar a few months later, then Lige shortly followed suit. Lige has had a 40+ year career with P*Funk and still tours…
